Google is currently working on developing a "smart contact lense". While initially it may seem like this device is Google Glass on your eye, it really is meant to have a different purpose and one arguably more useful than Glass.
In its initial run it will be utilized as more of a medical device, with the ability for those with diabetes to monitor glucose levels more easily and accurately. Rather than the current method of pricking a finger to collect a blood sample, the lens contains several sensors which can monitor glucose levels in tears.
This completely changes the interface of monitoring a persons glucose levels and helps people have readings more often, consequently giving them a more accurate overview of their glucose levels.
