Smart Pens

While smart pens have been around for some time now, they are a type of interface that expands on the idea of writing with a paper and pen. There are multiple types of smart pens that are available and each one has its own unique qualities.

Some of them allow you to write on normal paper and they will detect your pen strokes and convert them to digital data automatically transferring to the cloud, while others you must connect your pen using a USB in order to convert your data from analog to digital using an app. Some pens contain cameras, sensors, and special paper in order to detect your writing. These pens allow you to tag certain key words, they give you the ability to search for things, which make organization easier. Others of these pens also, allow for simultaneous audio to be recorded along with your writing, that way it allows you to sync what you are writing with what you are hearing.

For people who prefer to write with pen and paper these smart pens are an alternative interface that allows them to transfer their hand-written material quickly and easily to a digital form without having to type what they have already written. This allows some people to save time, and also aids in helping to organize their notes. At the same time, the pens with audio recording can help people to remember what was said when they took certain notes, or pick out things that they may have missed in a discussion type of setting.
